In case you missed it, Xbox owners can participate in “Free Play Days,” which offer specific games for free for a limited time. Typically, it allows folks to partake even if they aren’t an Xbox Game Pass subscriber.
One thing to keep in mind, though, is that games are constantly cycling in and out as per the Xbox Wire, and they don’t stay free forever. Make sure you experience a few of the bigger offerings while you can.
Free Play Days Comes To An End On Feb 1
A Few Games Are Leaving
If you’re an Xbox owner, you should be taking advantage of Free Play Days immediately, and there are four games currently available. Here are all the games you can play now for Free Play Days:
Dead By Daylight
Grounded 2
Fallout 76
For Honor
Dead By Daylight, the popular survival horror multiplayer game, is still alive and kicking, and runs various cross-promotions and even features guest stars like Nic Cage. Grounded 2 and Fallout 76 are sandbox survival games, and For Honor is a PVP brawler featuring combatants from different regions and eras. They all offer something different, whether in gameplay or tone.
You may want to focus on two of them, though, as Grounded 2 and Dead By Daylight are leaving the service on February 1. If you decide to buy any of these games during the Free Play Days trials, you’ll be able to get them at a discount.
You’ll Have Extra Time With Two Of These
The Others Are Gone
Thankfully, two of the games have an extended stay on the Free Play Days program. You’ll be able to play Fallout 76 and For Honor until February 5, which lasts through that Thursday rather than Sunday, February 1. It’s a smart move to extend Fallout 76 in particular, especially since the second season of the TV show is currently airing, and there’s a 76 cross-promotion happening right now.
If you haven’t tried Fallout 76 yet, now is a good time. It’s not just the timing of the show; 76 has improved significantly over the years and is now realizing its potential. There’s a ton of stuff to do at this point, even if you’re a total newcomer to the Fallout franchise.
For Honor is a similarly strong pick for Free Play Days, given the risk of investing in an online multiplayer game in 2026, especially one as old as this. A free trial will let you see whether it’s worth your time after the promotion ends.
