It’s not every day Xbox Game Pass stealth drops new games, but when it does, they tend to be absolute bangers. Two of the greatest and most important video games of all time have just been added to the online subscription service, and it’s safe to say we’ve hit the absolute MOTHERLODE.
For those who didn’t pick up on that hint, The Sims and The Sims 2 have been added to PC Game Pass via the EA Play expansion. Both games are available to download and play as part of your subscription right now, and both come with a ton of classic expansion packs.
Xbox Game Pass Adding The Sims? We’re So In
The Sims and The Sims 2 are iconic
First released in 2000, The Sims remains one of the most beloved video games of all-time. What can I say about it that hasn’t already been said? It had a brilliant sense of humor, tons of customization options, and generally drove people to do truly awful things to their digital avatars as if they were prison guards in some kind of social experiment. It was awesome.
Four years later, The Sims 2 came along and did everything bigger and better. While The Sims 4 is obviously the most feature-complete and modern-feeling of the series, it’s totally worth revisiting the first two entries to see where it all started.
Here’s every expansion that comes with The Sims:
Livin’ Large
House Party
Hot Date
Vacation
Unleashed
Superstar
Makin’ Magic
And every expansion you can play with The Sims 2 (spoiler, there are a lot):
University
Nightlife
Open For Business
Pets
Bon Voyage
Seasons
FreeTime
Apartment Life
Holiday Party Pack
Family Fun Stuff
Glamour Life Stuff
Happy Holiday Stuff
Celebration!
Stuff,
H&M Fashion Stuff
Teen Style Stuff
Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff
Mansion & Garden Stuff expansions.
The Sims Is The Perfect Time-Killer
Make WooHoo not war
If you’re looking for something relatively relaxing to play that doesn’t require too much focus, The Sims and The Sims 2 really are the perfect games to get started on. Don’t get me wrong, you can absolutely become obsessed and make it the most stressful video game experience of all time. But that’s not the recommended way to play.
