Some say fortune favors the bold, and it’s clear that the lovely folks over at Xbox agree. It would seem that we can expect to see one of last year’s greatest RPGs join the Xbox Game Pass library sometime soon. Getting our blacksmith hands on one of the nominated games for GOTY 2025 seems like a gift forged in the fires of a Kuttenberg’s forge.
According to a not-so-cryptic message from Melissa McGamepass (yes really) on X, Game Pass has an upcoming adventure that they are very happy to see “deliverance’d”. Reading between the not too subtle lines, it looks like Game Pass subscribers are soon going to be playing as the humble Henry of Skalitz in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Xbox Game Pass Is Getting A Huge Sequel
KCD2 Coming to Game Pass
As the original Kingdom Come Deliverance is already on Game Pass, it’s safe to assume that we’re getting the much-loved sequel KCD2 very soon. The sequel is a timely addition to the Game Pass library as it improves upon every aspect of the original game and, through Warhorse Studios’ own admissions, is the game they truly intended to make when working on the first outing. Having both titles playable for free on XBox Game Pass is a real treat.
Exploring a map twice the size of the original game in 15th century Bohemia is a joy. The game offers unprecedented levels of immersive realism and just keeping Henry alive is a challenge in itself. The payoff, though, is worth it according to dedicated fans. Seeking revenge for the death of your parents while trying to keep your friend Hans Capon from getting you both killed is now a fully realized experience.
One Of 2025’s Greatest RPGs Now Free
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has a player rating of 100 and a critic’s recommended score of 95% on Opencritic. Everything from the engaging NPCs with side quests, the visuals and the realistic combat have been praised by players, and it’s clear to see why this game was shortlisted for GOTY at the Game Awards last year. Sure, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won absolutely every award going, but KCD2 came pretty close.
