Xbox Game Pass’ April Lineup Confirms We’re In For A Good Time

Xbox Game Pass is on a roll. Although price hikes have been brutal for the service, more games are coming to the platform each week, and now we have a sense of what April will bring.
As per True Achievements, we’re getting two genre games in April so far, and there’s more to come. It’s not a bad place to be this early in the year.
Xbox Game Pass’ April Lineup Is Short But Sweet… So Far
Two Games That Look Intriguing
These two games offered in April couldn’t be more different, and they highlight the strength of the Xbox Game Pass catalog. First up is Replaced, a game developed by Sad Cat Studios and published by Thunderful. Tasked with “exposing the sinister secrets of the Phoenix Corporation,” you’ll play an AI trapped in a human body, as you explore an alt-version of 1980s America. As a dystopian platformer, you’ll uncover more background on the in-universe lore through an action-based system.
Replaced is out on April 14 and will be available on Xbox Game Pass day one. It’s the sort of stylized platformer that’s perfect for the service: it looks like a tough sell for many people, but is a great Game Pass incentive for folks who aren’t into the genre.
Next is Aphelion, which should appeal to people with stronger sci-fi sensibilities. Aphelion is out on April 28 on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and involves a familiar premise: “Hunted on a frozen planet, astronaut Ariane must brave rugged landscapes and shifting realities to rescue her wounded partner, Thomas. This action-packed sci-fi adventure blends exploration, traversal, and tense stealth gameplay.”
The conceit is that by 2060, the Earth is uninhabitable, but the discovery of a ninth planet (Persephone) allows some hope for humanity. The problem is that it needs to be surveyed first, an exercise that descends into “chaos.”
More Xbox Game Pass Games Will Be Announced Soon
We’ll Get A Better Idea Of The Full April Lineup
We now know basically all of what is being offered up in March on Xbox Game Pass, but most of April is still a mystery. That will change as early as next week, when Microsoft typically announces the games they’re adding for the following month.
For reference, here is what we have to look forward to in the near future:
