Obsidian’s RPG sequel, The Outer Worlds 2, launches today. But the process hasn’t been as seamless as the devs and series fans would have liked. Shortly after the game’s launch at 1p.m. ET, would-be players began reporting difficulty accessing the game on Xbox consoles, PC, and via Game Pass. The issues with accessing The Outer Worlds 2 are due to a wider outage affecting Microsoft’s Azure platform, which is the digital foundation for much of the company’s software and networking infrastructure.
Obsidian is aware of the outage and has been keeping players posted with regular updates via Bluesky.
