A highly awaited RPG sequel is finally coming as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, but there’s a small catch as to how it will be presented to its members. Microsoft’s subscription service is continuously getting new titles, as some games are removed from the catalog every month. Just a few days ago, for example, the wonderful Winter Burrow joined Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release.
Meanwhile, the service did see some departures recently. For instance, STALKER 2 left Xbox Game Pass in November, even if it was originally released as a day-one console exclusive on the platform. There are hundreds of games to pick from, depending on your subscription tier, and choices are going to get a bit tougher with the arrival of an anticipated RPG sequel.
Xbox Game Pass Gets Moonlighter 2 As A Day-One Sequel
During Early Access, The Game Is Only Available On PC
Originally expected for Xbox Game Pass in October and then pushed back into November because of an internal delay, Moonlighter 2 is joining Xbox Game Pass on November 19. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will be added to the catalog as part of the Game Preview program, which means this is not its definitive release. The RPG will only be available to play on PC via the service, for now.
To gain access to Moonlighter 2’s early access on Xbox Game Pass in November, you’ll need an Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription, as the game will not be available on the Premium or Essential tiers. According to the game’s product page on Xbox, Moonlighter 2 will eventually become available for Xbox Series X/S consoles, though only when it is fully released. The RPG does not yet have a final release date.
Moonlighter 2 Promises Fun RPG & Roguelike Gameplay
The Game Will Have A Great Gameplay Loop
Moonlighter 2 is a sequel to the original RPG created by Digital Sun. In it, you’ll control a merchant adventurer who finds himself in the village of Tresna, though all of the locals are stranded. As such, your goal will be to leave your shop and obtain resources by exploring dungeons, and then returning to sell them to make a profit. With your profit, you’ll also be able to invest in the village’s other establishments.
This will help you gain new gear and improve your own shop, attracting new customers and turning Tresna into a well-developed settlement. As is the case with the gameplay of the original Moonlighter, this sequel is an action RPG with roguelike elements. You’ll explore unexpected dungeons with unexpected dangers inside them through each playthrough, and you’ll never know what you’ll obtain.
