The New York Videogame Critics Circle will host the 12th edition of Annual New York Game Awards at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan on January 17. This event will honor video games and people related to this community for their remarkable performance in 2022. Further, the former Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime and NYVGCC’s founder Harold Goldberg will host the event.
Many significant releases of 2022, like Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, have multiple nominations in the Annual New York Game Awards. But aside from these games, the Xbox CEO Phil Spenser will also receive a legendary award there for his great contribution to the gaming community.

The New York Videogame Critics Circle announced in November 2022 that the Xbox CEO Phil Spencer would receive the 2023 Andrew Yoon Legend Award. The Annual New York Game Awards present this legendary honor to people or organizations for their excellent work in the gaming industry.
In the past, the recipients of this award include names like Tim Schafer, Jade Raymond, Todd Howard, Hideo Kojima, and Reggie Fils-Aime. Further, the American video game company, Rockstar Games, has also received this prestigious honor.
Now, Phil Spencer is the one to receive the award this year. He might be receiving this award for his outstanding work in 2022, like selling Xbox consoles at a reasonable price despite the inflation in the console. Moreover, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard could have also played a role in his receiving this award.

Further, people like former PlayStation boss Shawn Layden and former Nintendo boss Reggie Fils-Aime congratulated Spencer. The former Nintendo boss is also the previous recipient of the Andrew Yoon Legend Award and will host the award ceremony this year.
