On May 1st, in the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational Play-in Stage, T1 defeated Estral Esports 2-0 and advanced to the Winners Bracket. It was Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s 7th MSI. After the match, Faker joined the host, Jackson Liu, for an interview.
This is your 7th MSI. Do you feel any different?
I don’t think the MSI, as an international tournament, comes around often for me. Although it’s my seventh time attending, I still cherish each opportunity. I believe it will be a valuable experience.
What are your expectations for this MSI?
With many strong teams and a stage set for exciting matches, I’m curious about the preparations the other teams have made. I’m looking forward to facing teams from other regions.
What aspects of today’s opponents impressed you?
I think their decisiveness was notable. They made bold moves, which sometimes caught us off guard. It seems like Estral Esports was well-prepared in those aspects.
There are many strong teams in this MSI. Which team do you want to face the most?
Since we lost to BLG last year, I would like to face BLG.
What kind of performance do you want to show at this MSI?
Naturally, I want to show a good performance at this MSI. I want to demonstrate that T1 is a team worthy of receiving support from many people.
Many fans are supporting both on-site and online. Any message you want to convey?
I’m grateful to the many fans who came to support us in Chengdu. Xiexie.
