Streamer tyler1 has reached Challenger maining all five roles in League of Legends

The news of Cloud9 announcing the release of head coach Nick “LS” De Cesare mere minutes before their first match in week 3 of the 2022 LCS Spring Split shook the League of Legends esports ecosystem to its core, but less than 24 hours before the sudden announcement, a monumental achievement was drowned out in C9’s wake over last weekend.
Streamer Tyler “tyler1” Steinkamp has accomplished the amazing feat of reaching Challenger ELO on the North American League of Legends server in all five playable roles in Riot Games’ multiplayer online battle arena. The streamer accomplished the feat by qualifying for Challenger in NA solo queue while exclusively maining the support role early in the morning of Saturday, February 19, 2022.
As an AD carry main and a bonafide Draven specialist, tyler1 has reached challenger multiple times in his primary role. However, starting in 2020, the streamer/content creator set out to reach challenger in the other four roles in League of Legends, starting with jungler before moving on to top and mid lane and, subsequently, finishing his challenge on support.
In relative difficulty, tyler1 was forthright on his climbing rankings: top lane was the most difficult, followed by AD carry, and then mid lane. Despite near-constant grievances of the role’s health, tyler1 said he found jungle the second easiest, referencing that while the jungler role has very different fundamentals from any laning position, the grasp of that difference was the largest contribution to any difficult he had reaching Challenger.
Support was named the easiest role to climb to Challenger in by tyler1 and was the only role in which he was able to reach challenger without maining the role for at least 1,000 games. The streamer recently parted ways with esports organization T1 after one year under their banner.
