Riot Games has announced a new multiyear global partnership with Opera GX, marking the gaming-focused browser as the Preferred Browser Partner for League of Legends (LoL) Esports Global Events. The collaboration will debut during the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, set to kick off on September 25.
As part of the partnership, Opera GX will be the Presenting Partner of “Worlds Unlocked,” a curated bundle that includes limited-edition physical and in-game items to celebrate Worlds 2024. These exclusive items will be available only within the “Worlds Unlocked Collector’s Edition.”
A new feature, the Co-Streamer Hub powered by Opera GX, will provide fans with an interactive directory of more than 75 co-streamer channels. This centralized platform will allow viewers to choose co-streamers in their preferred language, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
Opera GX’s browser will offer fans an immersive and interactive way to engage with Worlds content, providing enhanced stats, custom mods, and digital drops, alongside easy navigation through all Worlds-related content.
“Opera GX is the ideal partner for LoL Esports as they are a brand built for players, by players,” said David Mulhall, Head of Global Esports Partnerships at Riot Games. “We’re excited for the opportunity this partnership brings to reimagine what an immersive and dynamic esports fan experience looks like.”
Maciek Kocemba, Product Director at Opera GX, echoed this sentiment: “We’re not just another sponsor. We’re gamers ourselves, and we understand the deep connection fans have with their favorite teams and players. This partnership is just the beginning of what we hope to achieve together.”
With this partnership, Riot Games and Opera GX aim to enhance the League of Legends esports experience for fans worldwide, creating new opportunities for interaction and engagement during the game’s premier global events.
