MoistCr1TiKaL Calls Out Fortnite Olympics, Suggesting a Sinister “Money Laundering Scheme”

eSports has been an integral part of the modern sporting ecosystem for quite some time. But it took years to be accepted at traditional sporting events such as the Olympics. After years of anticipation and requests from fans all over the world, Fortnite has finally gotten its place on the world stage, but in a very watered-down way.
The Internet’s eccentric icon, MoistCr1TiKaL, has given some concerning outlooks on the entire ordeal. Moist is known for his unapologetic and bold takes. His unbiased views on popular subjects have earned him a very respectable reputation among YouTube communities and internet users.

The Olympic Committee recently announced another addition to the eSports series. According to the official statement, “a special International Shooting Sport Federation Island created in Fortnite, which will be designed to reflect sport shooting competition. Players will be tested on their target aiming accuracy, just as sport shooters would in competition.”
This special arrangement in Fortnite will be nothing like the base game. It will be more akin to a custom map simulating a shooting range. No official explanation was given as to why the Olympics took this approach with the game. But according to Moist, the reason behind this decision is that the committee is too “afraid of violence” in video games.
Alongside Fortnite, the Olympic community has announced the games simulating other sports. This includes:
Archery (Tic Tac Bow)
Baseball (WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros)
Chess (Chess.com)
Cycling (Zwift)
Dance sport (Just Dance)
Motorsport (Gran Turismo 7)
Sailing (Virtual Regatta)
Taekwondo (Virtual Taekwondo)
Tennis (Tennis Clash)

Most of the games being obscure mobile games and developed weeks before the announcement made Moist believe that this is a big “money laundering scheme” by the Olympics, in order to leech off money from micro-transactions in these games. Getting added to the official Olympic roster will surely create hype for these games, making more people try these titles and jump into the micro transaction net.

Although there is no official proof backing up these claims, the fact that the main demographic of the sports, the youth, is most probably not going to enjoy watching the watered-down version of these games and expecting a good reception from the older audience is also a gamble. These points give some fuel to Moist’s claims.
