Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, is stepping into a different kind of spotlight as he lends his expertise to the world of sim racing. As one of the greatest drivers of our time, Verstappen is set to crown the winner at the Heineken Player 0.0 Global Final.
This event, held at Madrid’s IFEMA during the GAMERGY conference from December 13 to 15, proves the growing links between traditional sports and gaming culture, whilst also marketing Heineken’s push for responsible drinking.
Heineken Player 0.0 is part of the company’s wider “When You Drive, Never Drink” initiative, first launched in 2016. The campaign aims to educate and promote responsible consumption through the fun of sim racing and mobile gaming. This event is not merely about being the fastest; it rewards those involved for safe driving practices, celebrating the brand’s line of: “The Best Driver is the one who is not drinking.”
Max Verstappen, as the ambassador for Heineken 0.0, will honor the Global Final’s winner, and will hopefully get behind the wheel of a sim rig himself.

GAMERGY, powered by its partner GGTech, is at the forefront of integrating traditional sports into immersive gaming experiences.
“In the past few years, we have seen how the traditional sports and gaming ecosystems have come closer together in innovative and immersive ways,” said Cristina Carranza, Global Head of Sales at GGTech.”At our most recent GAMERGY México edition, we saw our tennis, football, boxing, skateboarding, and paddle activations being amongst the most popular gaming fair attractions. We are very excited to partner with Heineken in adding Player 0.0 to the digital fandom.”
Taking place at Madrid’s IFEMA, the event is expected to draw both amateur and professional gamers through various competitions, such as the GAMERGY Open and Masters.
The Player 0.0 tournament brings gamers from all across the globe, offering them a chance to showcase their skills in front of the Dutch champion during this weekend’s Global Finals.
Participants not only get a chance to compete in front of a global audience but will also receive a VIP travel experience and one will be lucky enough to be crowned champion by Max himself.
