The 2024 LCK Spring Split PO Round 1 has concluded. The first match between Hanwha Life Esports and Kwangdong Freecs ended with Hanwha Life Esports having a clean 3-0 sweep over Kwangdong Freecs, while the second match between KT Rolster and Dplus KIA saw an exciting comeback victory from Dplus KIA, ending 3-2.
In Playoffs Round 2, Gen.G and T1, ranking 1st and 2nd, respectively, will join the fray. With the first-place seed, Gen.G has selected Dplus KIA. Thus, the matchups for Round 2 are set as Gen.G vs. Dplus KIA and T1 vs. Hanwha Life Esports.
The remaining matches will proceed in a double-elimination format. The two teams winning their first matches will face off in the Winners Bracket to determine one team advancing directly to the grand finals. The two losing teams will battle in the Losers Bracket, with the losing team being eliminated. The winner from the Losers Bracket and the loser from the Winners Bracket will compete for the final spot in the finals. All matches will be conducted in a Best-of-5 format.
The match between Gen.G and Dplus KIA will take place on Apr. 3, followed by the match between T1 and KT Rolster the next day. Subsequent Winners Bracket matches will be on Apr. 6, Losers Bracket matches on Apr. 7. The lower bracket finals which decides the last team to reach the finals will be held on Apr. 13, with the grand finals concluding on Apr. 14.
Regardless of the outcome, the two teams advancing to the Grand Finals will secure a spot in the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational. MSI 2024 is scheduled to take place in Chengdu, China, from May 1 to May 19. Currently confirmed MSI participants are G2 Esports, Flyquest, and Team Liquid.
