Company of Heroes 3 launched on PC back in February, but Sega and Vancouver-based developer Relic Entertainment have always promised the game would come to current-gen consoles eventually. Well, it seems “eventually” won’t be far off, as Sega has announced the game will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in late May.
Relic is promising the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Company of Heroes 3 will feature “custom UI, full controller support, and special features” that should make it feel like a natural experience on consoles. The following screenshots further show off the game’s new console-friendly UI. You can also check out some gameplay here.

Looking solid, although the UI still appears a bit finicky for those playing with controllers. Of course, strategy games coming to console isn’t as rare as it once was, with Paradox Interactive in particular doing a good job of porting their titles. It remains to be seen whether Relic does as good a job with Company of Heroes 3, but they have a fair amount of console experience themselves. Hopefully, that carries over.
Haven’t been keeping up with CoH3? Wccftech’s strategy master Chris Wray found PC version to be compelling, if somewhat rough around the edges, in his full review…
“Company of Heroes 3 is a triumphant return to the game that raised the bar for Real-Time Strategy. With unparalleled action on the battlefield, that alone makes it work your while. The new grand-strategy campaign is a welcome addition, though it has some flaws, ranging from performance issues and bugs to simply being too easy. Despite this, it’s impossible not to recommend Company of Heroes 3 for the excellent game that it is.”
Company of Heroes 3 can be played now on PC. The game launches on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 on May 30. Pre-orders for the console version will be open on April 25. Anyone out there interested in tackling the game on the couch with a controller?
