Tyreek Hill has taken the NFL world by storm. The Super Bowl champion recently announced his future plans, shocking many in the process. Professional athletes have been well known to dip their toes in video game streaming and look like Hill is all set to follow suit. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver earlier shared his ambitions of starting an Esports organization and he certainly has the capital to pursue it. Back in 2022, Hill signed a four-year, $120m extension, making him the highest-paid receiver in the league.
Despite his plans for the future, Tyreek intends on honoring his commitment to the Dolphins. The 7x Pro Bowler, however, wants to walk away from the game at the end of his contract and focus on his next venture. While many found the news shocking, a certain NFL veteran and sportscaster seemed rather skeptical about Hill’s choice.

Over the years, content creation has seen many iterations, and the Esports world has played a major role in that. While many professional athletes admire professional streamers, seldom do any change their entire career trajectory. Turns out Tyreek Hill is not just your average professional athlete, as he seems fairly confident with his plans for the future.
Hill’s decision to retire from the NFL at the end of the 2025 season managed to draw the attention of NFL veteran Marcellus Wiley.
Speaking on Hill’s ultimatum, Wiley said, “All right, so far, doesn’t sound like much of a plan, but we’re gonna figure this out. He got enough money to figure it out. He has enough money to fail forward. We got four years and $120 million. You got a lot of money. And he’s in Miami. Florida. No state tax.”
However, even Wiley had to acknowledge the booming industry of Esports, “Now, that is a lucrative space on the line that Esports all that is next level. If he doesn’t want to even take a step back. He can still command that same 120 And the next deal which I’m sure will help buy more keyboards and mouse pads or whatever the hell they need.”
Wiley does not believe that Hill will retire at the end of his contract. According to Marcellus Wiley, Hill will go into the Esports scene but that won’t be the end of his NFL career. Tyreek Hill, on the other hand, seems to have given the possibility some thought as he shared some of his concrete plans for the future.
