Today’s Wild Hearts Update Adds AMD FSR on PC, Improves Performance on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, More

A new Wild Hearts update is being deployed today across all platforms, packing a ton of fixes and improvements. In addition, this new update adds FSR support on PC and aims to improve performance on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Going by the patch notes, this is a significant patch containing numerous fixes and improvements, including balance adjustments and platform-specific changes. Due to the extensive patch notes, we won’t be posting them in full here, but some interesting new additions are buried in the notes that might very well be overlooked. Aside from plenty of balance changes to creatures, items, and whatnot, we find that developer Omega Force has added support for AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution (FSR) to the game’s upscaling options. This will reduce load without sacrificing resolution. The patch notes also mention improved performance on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PC, the “240” FPS limit setting has also been removed.
Performance issues were one the things that we mentioned in our review of the game, especially on PC, and Omega Force already promised support for DLSS and FSR. Although this new patch doesn’t seem to introduce DLSS support just yet, some PC players will be happy that it does pack FSR support. Last week, EA and Omega Force also released an update that aimed to improve PC performance. Of course, we’ll update you as soon as we learn more about DLSS support for Wild Hearts.
“The PlayStation 5 version fares slightly better, but not by much”, Francesco De Meo wrote in his launch review. “On consoles, Wild Hearts offers Performance and Display Modes which target 4K, 30 FPS, and 1080p, 60 FPS, respectively, but fail to keep their target framerates consistently, as I had drops to what looked 30 FPS and lower during most hunts in Performance Mode. The main difference with the PC version is that there is no stuttering, so the game feels slightly more playable. As things stand in the game’s 1.0.2 version, I would recommend going for the PlayStation 5 version over the PC version if that is an option, as performance and technical issues seem to be widespread on a variety of system configurations. Omega Force acknowledged these issues, confirming it is working on improving the game’s performance, starting with CPU usage, as well as on DLSS and FSR support, so hopefully, the experience will be smoother in the future.”
Wild Hearts is available globally now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
