‘Resident Evil Requiem’ is available to preorder for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X

With the release of “Resident Evil Requiem” coming up soon (Friday, Feb. 27), fans with PlayStation 4 consoles are wondering if they’ll have the chance to play the latest survival horror game on their consoles.
Those console owners will be disappointed because “Resident Evil Requiem” will not be available on older gen gaming systems, including the PS4 or Nintendo Switch 1.
However, they still have time to order a PlayStation 5, Xbox X and Nintendo Switch 2 to make sure they can play from launch day.
Resident Evil 9 will only be released for next-gen consoles — PlayStation 5, Xbox X and Nintendo Switch 2 — and PCs that can handle the video game’s enhanced graphics powered by Capcom’s RE ENGINE.
The game is packed with realistic details throughout Raccoon City and the characters, including lifelike facial expressions, realistic skin textures and high-fidelity sweat droplets, that only these modern systems can display.
Since the game release is still more than a week away, you still have time to upgrade your gaming setup with a new PS5, Xbox Series X or Nintendo Switch 2 from Walmart or Amazon.

If you opt for the PS5, you’ll experience its custom CPU, GPU, ultra-high-speed SSD, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and 3D audio for faster loading times and deeper immersion into each game.
Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X comes packed with AMD’s Zen 2 CPU, an RDNA 2 GPU, hardware-accelerated DirectX ray-tracing for realistic lighting, shadows and reflections. Plus, it has Quick Resume for lightning-fast load times, gameplay of up to 120 FPS powered by the Xbox Velocity Architecture and a custom-built 1TB SSD to output action-packed, detailed games.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a strong contender with its comparable graphics capabilities. These include 3D spatial audio, a custom Nvidia Ampere-based processor and 256GB of internal storage for real-time ray-tracing, smoother frame rates, sharper visuals and faster loading times.
So your choice ultimately comes down to budget as well as brand and game preference.
