Xbox Game Pass is wrapping up January 2026 with two final games added to the catalog for members to enjoy. This has been a great month for the subscription service, with huge hits and some great indie titles becoming available for subscribers. Early in the month, players got Final Fantasy, for instance, and just recently, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 joined Game Pass.
Before the month ends, however, Microsoft added two more games to the catalog. As of January 28, both Anno: Mutationem and Drop Duchy are available on Xbox Game Pass. Both of these titles are made available via the Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass tiers within the subscription service, according to Pure Xbox. Via Game Pass, you can play either game on consoles, PC, or via cloud gaming.
Xbox Game Pass Is Ending January With Two Great Games
Both Games May Have Flown Under Your Radar
In addition to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and MySims: Cozy Bundle, Anno: Mutationem and Drop Duchy are remarkable ways to end January 2026 for Xbox Game Pass. The two titles that are now part of the catalog are pretty great games, and they may be well worth your time. Granted, they aren’t as big as games like the aforementioned Warhammer or Death Stranding Director’s Cut, but their quality is still notable.
Both titles are fairly recent releases. Anno: Mutationem was originally released in March 2022, while Drop Duchy made its debut in May 2025. Their releases may have flown under the radar for many, but given their free-to-play status for Xbox Game Pass members, it may be worth checking them out at the very least.
They’re Very Different, But Worth A Go
Xbox Game Pass Has A Variety Of Genres
These games are very different from each other. Anno: Mutationem is an action-adventure game with RPG elements. The title is set in a futuristic and cyberpunk world, somewhat akin to Replaced on Xbox Game Pass, though a bit more flashy and colorful, thanks to its anime-like inspirations.
Meanwhile, Drop Duchy is a mix between a fortress-builder and a block-dropping roguelite, akin to Tetris. With somewhat randomized blocks, you’ll be able to construct a duchy and, from there on out, collect resources, recruit troops, and more. Both games are praised by players, but Drop Duchy stands out with an 83 Metascore on Metacritic.
