Xbox Makes 4 Huge Games Free For 48 Hours, No Game Pass Needed

Xbox Free Play Days is back, and if you’re looking for some new games to check out this weekend, there are a total of seven freebies to play. Even if you don’t have Xbox Game Pass, you can play four of these for free, no subscription needed, which is great.
This time around, Xbox Free Play Days lasts from Thursday, January 15, to late in the evening on January 18, so you’ve got from Thursday night until Sunday evening to play them, according to PureXbox. It may not be enough time to beat any of these free games being offered this weekend, but it is a chance to have some fun at no additional cost. You’ll just need to download the games first.
Xbox Free Play Days Is Back
Xbox Free Play Days in January is focused on a variety of sports games from EA, which runs the gamut of most major sports (just no NBA or MLB here). Four of these games don’t require a Game Pass subscription to play at all. Those four games are:
College Football 26
EA Sports FC 26
Madden NFL 26
NHL 26
Again, even if you don’t have Xbox Game Pass, you can play all four of these games this weekend. To do that, just search for the game’s title in the Xbox Store and select the “Free Trial” option once the game’s page shows up. Then, just wait for the game to download and then get to playing. It’s really as simple as that.
There Are Seven Games In Total, With Game Pass
If you DO have an Xbox Game Pass membership, then you can play the four games mentioned above, as well as three more, for a total of seven (yes, I’m very good at math). In case you skipped down to this section, I’m including all seven games here, with the three that need Game Pass in bold:
College Football 26
EA Sports FC 26
Madden NFL 26
NHL 26
PGA Tour
UFC 26
F1 25
That’s not a bad selection of games, especially if you enjoy sports already. Considering the popularity of College Football 26, EA Sports FC 26, and Madden NFL 26, those alone are pretty nice additions.
