Xbox Game Pass is finally heading to Google TV

Soon after making its way to Amazon’s Fire TVs and even LG TVs, Xbox Game Pass is finally ready to make the jump to Google TV.
Before you get too excited, though, we’d like to point out that at this moment, the rollout seems to be limited to a single new TCL flagship TV. However, that doesn’t mean that the floodgates won’t open any time now.
The development was highlighted at CES 2026, via 9to5Google, where TCL unveiled its new X11L SQD-Mini LED TV. Aside from its regular bells and whistles, the TV features other wild specs, including an impressive 10,000 nits of peak brightness, Dolby Vision 2, 20,000 “Discrete Dimming Zones,” and more.
While the X11L is stealing headlines because of its impressive specs, the confirmation of Xbox Game Pass’ arrival is the real news for gamers. It’s worth noting that although pre-orders for the TV are already open, support for Xbox Game Pass will come via an OTA update later in May, as pointed out by the folks over at TechRadar.
We’re hoping for a wider rollout
If Microsoft was to expand access to all (hardware-wise eligible) Google TVs, it would likely do it so before the OTA update rolls out.
The native app will let users stream games directly on their TV without the need for a physical console. All you’d need is an Xbox Game Pass subscription, a controller, and a reliable internet connection. This should offer an easier alternative to having to sideload the Xbox Game Pass app.
The TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV starts at $6,999 for the 75-inch model. Although a substantial price, it does effectively eliminate the cost of gaming by removing the need to drop another $500 on a console. Once widely available on Google TV and accessible via more affordable hardware, the high financial barrier to entry will vanish.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $30 a month/$360 annually.
