Xbox Game Pass always makes a lot of fanfare around adding titles, but removing them is often a quieter process. Once again, a batch of departing games has been revealed by an update to the Xbox app, with five more titles joining the “Leaving Soon” section.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Neon White, Road 96, The Ascent, and The Grinch: Christmas Adventures will all be removed from Xbox Game Pass on January 15, 2026, as reported by Pure Xbox. All five games are currently available for console, PC, and cloud players.

A Bittersweet Start To 2026
Game departures may be entirely routine, but Xbox Game Pass is losing some big ones this month. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn was a day-one release in 2024, offering an interesting mix of Soulslike gameplay that isn’t overly beholden to its inspirations. Neon White is possibly the most disappointing departure, as the “speedrunning FPS” has been an indie darling since its 2022 release.
Road 96 is a celebration of the unpredictability of road trips, procedurally generating different experiences for every run while mixing in a thematically loaded story. For those upset about the lack of Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Game Pass, The Ascent has long been a viable alternative, offering a top-down take on an action-packed cyberpunk world. Of the departures, The Grinch: Christmas Adventures is the most inessential title, but it could be a nice option for families.

You Still Have A Bit Of Time
All of these games can still be played until January 15, so if any of them seem interesting, now is the time to act. Luckily, none of them are terribly long. If you have 10–15 hours to spare in the next 12 days, you can knock at least one out, and The Grinch: Christmas Adventures should only take three or four.
