If you have been following tech news lately, you are already aware that the entire tech industry is facing a considerable challenge with RAM availability, as manufacturers prioritize production for AI data centers, in some cases abandoning consumer production, such as Micron with its Crucial brand.
The current RAM price increases, however, are only the beginning, as not only prices for many products are expected to increase next year, but product launches could also be delayed until the situation normalizes again. Even the PlayStation 6 and Xbox Next may not be immune to this, and could be delayed beyond their 2027-2028 release window.
In a new report posted today by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who proved to be an extremely reliable leaker in the past, console manufacturers are in a very tricky spot due to the massive RAM price increases.
