Xbox Game Pass

There’s an “exciting” lineup for Xbox Game Pass in 2026, according to a teaser for the brand’s 25th anniversary next year. A few months ago, the subscription service underwent an overhaul to its structure, which divided it into tiers. For example, the new Ultimate tier is the one that features day-one releases, like Death Howl, while the Premium tier sees older releases like Lost Records on Xbox Game Pass.
The next year is also already looking promising, especially with the prospect of a 25th anniversary celebration. In an interview with the BBC, Xbox’s Vice President of Next Generation, Jason Ronald, talked about the future of the brand and how the anniversary may impact Xbox Game Pass. “I can’t announce anything today,” said Ronald in response to a question about bringing more original Xbox titles to the subscription service. “But in 2026, it’s the 25th [sic] anniversary of Xbox.”
He goes on: “We want to celebrate the great legacy and history that we have with Xbox, as well as define the future for where the Xbox ecosystem is going. So I can’t confirm or deny what you’re asking, but stay tuned; we have a lot of exciting things to share next year.” Even though Ronald’s response is, truly, not an announcement, it is a teaser for what may come in 2026.
Xbox Game Pass Has Big Plans For 2026
Several Day-One Releases Are Planned For Next Year
It’s unclear if the 25th Xbox anniversary will prompt more original Xbox titles on Game Pass, specifically, but the subscription service will have some great implementations in 2026, based on calculations, leaks, and rumors. The Xbox Game Pass 2026 lineup already includes Forza Horizon 6, for example, which will most likely be released as a day-one title on the subscription service given that Playground Games is part of Xbox Game Studios.
We also know that the cyberpunk adventure Replaced arrives on Xbox Game Pass in early 2026 as a day-one release, which was confirmed by the studio’s most recent trailer, as well as High on Life 2. There are also rumors about the new Fable and Witchbrook being added to the catalog next year, in addition to dozens of other titles. 2026 may be a huge year for the subscription service, especially if it’s bolstered by its 25th anniversary celebrations.
Xbox Turns 25 Next Year
The Original Xbox Was Released In 2001
The Xbox brand is completing 25 years in 2026. The original Xbox was released in November 2001, and with its anniversary, Microsoft may be planning continuous celebrations throughout the year. Of course, this will likely not be limited to Xbox Game Pass, specifically, but members of the subscription service may indeed benefit from any potential plans that the company has in store for the service.
