If you haven’t yet jumped into the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series, now’s your chance to check it out for cheap. Monster Hunter Wilds is listed for $30 (was $70) ahead of Black Friday, which is so far the lowest price we’ve seen for the game since its launch on February 28 this year. The discount is available at Amazon and Walmart, with both PS5 and Xbox Series X versions eligible for the savings. Just note that this is a limited-time deal and will likely disappear soon.
While at its core, Monster Hunter Wilds follows the core gameplay loop of its predecessors, it’s also the biggest departure for the series yet. You’ll once again be out to hunt massive beasts, fighting solo or with a small party by your side. However, Wilds offers the first narrative-heavy, cutscene-driven storyline for the mainline Monster Hunter series, and makes big gameplay changes like large, interconnected open zones to explore, streamlined (and, frankly, easier) combat and crafting systems, as well as some of the most graphically detailed monsters and environments yet. While audience and critical reviews have been uneven post-launch, Wild’s baseline gameplay is still as fun as ever, and its heavier narrative focus and shifted gameplay priorities make for the most approachable Monster Hunter yet.
Monster Hunter Wilds has seen a few discounts since launching earlier this year, but nothing as notable as this. Its price typically hovers around $45, making this a great time to add it to your collection finally. If you’re playing on PC, you can grab a Steam version for $41.29 (was $70) at Fanatical. Note that this deal ends on Friday.
